Day 50 to 55 - Song Saa Island, Cambodia

As noted in our last post, we were feeling the heat and a little "Templed-out'" to be honest. We've seen so much and been largely nonstop for most of the last seven weeks. So, a little R&R is certainly welcomed. It was about a 3-hour drive south from Phnom Penh to the port of Sihanoukville where we picked up our boat for the 45min cruise to Song Saa Island Resort.

The place is simply idyllic and as you can, is right on, or really OVER the water.

Our room/villa is simply awesome and a nice way to conclude our trip, The sunset was a nice treat too! Note: the photos below are all pictures from our room!

This morning's view was also pretty darned good too with nice views of the reef right off the breakfast deck area. Hope to do some snorkeling there later today.

We'll pick up the posts when we get to Hong Kong for our final leg before home.

Cambodian Fun facts:

  • We have noticed that very few people in Cambodia seem to wear glasses. This could either be that they have extremely good vision or there is a financial issue with paying for glasses.

  • Back home we have a little routine: Lauren asks, "What do you fancy for dinner"? "Chinese food" is Steve's usual response. "But we had that 4 days ago" says Lauren. Steve replies "If we were in China, we'd have Chinese food every night". Ha Ha., But I think Steve may be hitting his limit of Southeast Asian food, having strong cravings for a 5-Guys burger!

  • Finally, we had a few requests to see the finished made-to-measure outfit. Sorry we neglected to previously include this. Here you go!
